Users of Ascent capture Versions 5.5 and upwards may be affected by the Slammer virus which infects SQL Server and may attack the MSDE SQL installation on the Ascent server machine.

If you have a firewall that prevents access to UDP port 1434 then you are unlikely to be affected.

Microsoft Service Pack 3 closes the security loophole which allows the attack.
